Let’s Try Japanese Riddle !! Vol.1

You know riddles are exciting to play. Kids love it. So do you!
It is easy to play riddles with kids in your native language,
but how about playing a riddle in Japanese?

A riddle is called Nazonazo in Japanese.

Nazo(なぞ)is 謎 in Kanji.
In general, kids under junior high school play with each other.

Are you ready? Now, let’s begin! 日本語のなぞなぞを英語で解いてみよう!

 

Question:Cats or Dogs, which do you think is the one that got a lot of praise for doing a handstand?

 

The Answer is:Dogs

Praising their pets, people say ” Good boy! Good girl!” In Japanese, “dog” is pronounced “Dodgu”(ドッグ)If we read it backward, Dog will be Guddo, ドッグ→グッド=good

逆さまになる=do a handstand

褒められる=receive compliments / got praise など
